Naturopathic medicine attempts to find the underlying causes of a patient’s condition rather than focusing solely on symptomatic treatment. Treatment is tailored to each individual and emphasizes prevention and self care. Some of the therapies most commonly utilized by our naturopathic physician include vitamin supplementation, natural hormone replacement therapy, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition and homeopathy. The following lab testing is also available: hormone levels, food allergy testing, vitamin/nutrition assessment, digestive function and cardiovascular profiles.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

We base our 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) educational program on the tremendously successful model developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. With more than two decades of published scientific research to support its effectiveness, MBSR offers powerful coping tools for stress, pain and debilitating illness. It complements the medical management of a wide variety of health challenges, such as chronic pain, heart disease, cancer, headaches, anxiety and panic, GI distress, high blood pressure, asthma, stress, fibromyalgia and substance abuse. Mindfulness isn’t something to acquire. It’s an internal resource waiting to be released. With emphasis on introspection and the calming of mind and body, this program helps you learn, grow and heal.

Psychological Health

As part of our holistic approach to wellness, we provide psychological treatment options and alternatives. Physical strength training, medical or chiropractic intervention, nutritional guidance and psychological treatment all serve as elements of our multi-disciplinary approach to improving overall health. Support groups for weight loss, body-image improvement and fitness; psychological coaching, motivational training, goal-setting and achievement; stress reduction; understanding depression and enhancing self-esteem; as well as individual, couples and group counseling help build an optimal you from the inside out.

Dietary Analysis
Maintaining a well-rounded and nutritionally balanced diet can be challenging. Busy lifestyles mixed with poor eating habits and conflicting information about food can make leading a healthy lifestyle extremely difficult. Through individual counseling, our nationally registered dietician will analyze your diet and develop an eating plan that will encourage healthy eating habits. Our dietician provides much-needed information coupled with real world strategies that include menu planning, shopping and supplement options.
