Woodside Tennis Academy has a long history of creating champions, earning scholarships and developing skills and techniques that young players can use throughout their recreational and competitive futures.

Junior Academy Programs & Events

Woodside Academy provides opportunities for young players to participate in various recreational competition. These opportunities include tournaments, leagues and team tennis, all coached and facilitated by Woodside Tennis Professionals. Contact Tennis Director Dave Gary for more information.


Session 1: June 5 – July 2

Session 3: July 31 – August 27

For intermediate-skilled 11-14 year old player who is beginning match play, this program emphasizes technique and extended rallying skills. Mon | 9:30am – 10:30am Wed | 9:30am – 10:30am

Eligibility based on the most current Missouri Valley Standing List where they are currently top 150. This player wants to play college tennis and wants to work towards a college scholarship as well as participating in sanctioned USTA tournament events, Missouri Valley and Heart of America. Tues | 9:00am – 11:00am Wed | 9:00am – 11:00am Thurs | 9:00am – 11:00am Cost: $420 for 4-week session or $135 per week

Players who look to play competitively and need to work on technique, control, consistency, and gain confidence in match play. These players are participating in the Junior Tennis League (JTL) 12U division/green dot. Mon | 11:00am -12:30pm Wed | 11:00am – 12:30pm Cost: $360 for 6-week session or $80 per week

These players are participating in the KCJTL 10U division/orange ball division. These players are working on technique, control, and consistency as well as gain confidence in match play.

Cost: $125 + tax per player Kansas City’s Junior Tennis League gives novice male and female players 10 and under orange ball, 12 and under green ball, and 13 and above yellow ball, the opportunity to participate in recreational competition with other teams from around the city. This is a summer program, played each year during June and July. Teams will play other teams of similar ability in singles and doubles. Match Format: Each match will consist of 4 singles matches and 2 doubles matches. Ladder matches played prior to the JTL season will determine a player’s position. Weekly Match Schedule: 10 and Under: Mon 1:00pm – 2:30pm 12 and Under: Tues 1:00pm – 3:00pm Teens: Thurs 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Cost: $75 + tax per player All academy players will participate in the summer USTA JTT match play program. There will be 10/under, 12/under, and High School divisions. Teams will consist of three boys and three girls. Play will be singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Matches will be played at Woodside and area clubs on Wednesday afternoons during the outdoor season. Woodside Tennis professional staff will be present for matches to help coach and manage players.
