General Manager
“Consistency over quantity wins the fitness race every time. Give me a person who is dedicated to a
daily quest to better themselves over those who throw themselves into something expecting a quick fix. Fitness is a lifetime goal – not a seasonal one.”
With over thirty years in the hospitality business, Chris has been with Woodside for 4+ years. Working since the age of ten at family-owned restaurants and later moving to the hotel business in his 20's, Chris' focus has been on maintaining and improving the high standards set in service and facilities at the club, along with increased communication with the members. A lifelong martial artist, Chris has realized that with age, comes wisdom, and the knowledge that you can no longer do everything you could at 25...and the need to adjust accordingly. Woodside gives everyone the opportunity to do just that.
Membership Director
“If you’re not going to workout for better health and wellness, then at the very least do it to look good. You don’t think anyone is staring at your personality, do you?”
Kevin claims to be a Midwest native, but it’s hard to tell for sure. Maybe his 15 years spent in the Sonoran desert melted his mind. The guy actually flips channels between tennis matches and NASCAR races, rides a motorcycle, and professes that the NBA is much better than the college game. He thinks Larry David is hilarious, Godsmack rules, and that jeans & a company t-shirt should be standard business attire. Fortunately, this enigma has a love of tennis and a successful record when it comes to selling, which is how he ended up at Woodside. Every company he has owned or represented has experienced significant growth. He said it starts with taking care of the customers, listening to their needs, and providing a solution to their individual issue. “It’s simple, but not always easy”, he says. Kevin lives in Shawnee, has been in love with his wife, Kim, for nearly twenty years, and is the father of two pretty cool kids, Sebastian and Dante.
Tennis Director
“At Woodside, we deliver an unbeatable product, our prices are reasonable and we serve our members with passion. Our tennis program offers top-notch instructors for adults and juniors alike, and the Woodside Tennis Academy has equipped players with the skills and passion to become power players in college and beyond.”
Operations Manager and Membership Sales
“At Woodside, there’s something for everyone. All it takes is a single tour of the club and people instantly see all that we have to offer.”
David grew up in Southern California in the early 70’s, distributing fliers for rock concerts on the Sunset Strip. We answered fan mail for a small rock and roll band called The Doors.
My father Wayne Freeland and his partner Don Tanner in 1972 established Woodside. I came to work with them in the early 80’s, learning about all aspects of running a club. Our goal has always been to continue building on their foundation. As Operations Manager, David is responsible for the daily oeprations of all health club desks and equipment at the club along with the indoor and outdoor pools.
Director of Member Services and Club Marketing
“Our members can run on treadmills and lift weights anywhere in the city. But, our members choose to come to Woodside because they are getting more – we try to provide them with an awesome experience and unbeatable services and amenities. We want them to enjoy their time spent here but, more importantly, we want our members to leave every day with every intention of always coming back.”
When my family joined Woodside Ronald Regan was president, it cost 22 cents to mail a letter and The Simpsons debuted on television. It was 1987. So I’ve been involved with Woodside for over twenty years. And now, as Director of Member Services, I’m here to help all our members realize what the club can offer, how we can help or to just be a friendly, familiar face around the Club.
