Katie Swetala

Managing Director

Katie Swetala is intimately involved in all areas of Woodside and oversees the day to day business functions. She provides oversight on club processes and policies and provides support to all departments to develop and help drive Woodside to be a leader in health, fitness and wellness. Katie’s long history and diverse roles with Woodside have made her uniquely qualified for her position.

Katie truly practices what she preaches. She is passionate about health and wellness and enjoys a wide range of fitness activities from group fitness classes to indoor cycling to yoga and beyond. Katie enjoys traveling to new places and spending time with her friends and family.

Kevin Peterson

Director of Membership

Kevin’s job is what sets our membership department apart from industry standards. Instead of a team of pushy salespeople, Woodside depends on Kevin to provide prospective members with a genuine and thorough introduction to the club. Once a new member joins the club, Kevin continues to be available for any questions, comments, or a pickup game of basketball.

Kevin’s favorite way to stay healthy is to act like a kid and play sports! He prefers to play tennis and basketball for exercise at Woodside, but he also enjoys playing football and golf with his boys, and cycling with his wife.

Director of Training

Faron has spent the last four years at Woodside building and maintaining an elite team of Professional Trainers. His role is to ensure that Woodside Personal Training delivers the highest quality, most effective training services available. This dedication to excellence includes maintaining continuing education programs, developing industry-leading programming, and keeping the member experience in the forefront of everything the department does.

Faron gets fired up about combining functional and traditional resistance training and enjoys spin classes. As a native to the Appalachian Mountains and Tennessee hills, he naturally gets a thrill mountain biking.

Dave Gary

Director of Tennis

For the past seven years, Dave Gary was the Director of Tennis at Midtown Athletic Club. While at Midtown, Dave oversaw a robust tennis program that included a staff of up to 13 tennis professionals, and he was the USTA Tournament Director for the historical USTA Women’s Senior National 65, 75 and 85 Category I event. Previously, Dave was the General Manager at The Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Georgia – a 24 court facility that hosted 60 ALTA and USTA teams. They were invited to be a USTA Quickstart Pilot Program and a USPTA Regional Tennis Coach Certification Testing Center. He received the USPTA Southern Division, a seven state section, and Facility Manager of the Year.

Director of Communications

Karen’s role is to communicate the message of our comprehensive health, wellness and fitness opportunities. Here at Woodside, we go “beyond fitness” to provide total wellness services. Karen works with each department to ensure that their message gets out to members.

At Woodside, you can find Karen in various group exercise classes. At home, she enjoys keeping up with her two daughters, walking her dog, cycling with her husband, and experimenting with healthy recipes.

Director of Wellness

Dr. Chaney serves two important roles at Woodside: running her naturopathic medical practice here, and working as the club’s Wellness Director. Her practice provides wellness testing, nutrition and general health services to members. In addition, Dr. Chaney provides complimentary wellness consults for new members, organizes regular wellness lectures at the club, and contributes to the monthly newsletter, blog and quarterly wellness magazine. She is an integral part of helping individuals become the best version of themselves by successfully integrating Western & Holistic medicine.

Dr. Chaney achieves a healthy lifestyle with her husband and three daughters by eating a wide range of foods, drinking barrels of water, listening to her body, staying active and striving for 8-10 hours of sleep.

Becky Johnson

Director of Food + Drink

Becky is directly responsible for the Food & Beverage Department at Woodside.  Her professional experience includes boutique hotels abroad, cruise lines, country clubs, and corporate dining.
